AltaML is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Women in AI, a non-profit do-tank working toward gender inclusive and ethical artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the participation of Co-Founder and Co-CEO Nicole Janssen in a panel discussion at the upcoming Women in AI Global Summit.

AltaML builds transformational software for business, powered by machine learning (ML). Guided by its vision to impact one billion decisions by 2030 and a mission to apply AI to elevate human potential, AltaML works with organizations across industries to identify specific business problems suited for AI and ML. AltaML has successfully deployed solutions in the healthcare, financial services, energy, utilities, construction and agriculture sectors.

Women in AI (WAI) is a global community-driven initiative headquartered in Paris with over 5,000 members in over 115 countries with a mission to increase the representation and participation of women in artificial intelligence. Core values are diversity and inclusion, responsible AI, empowerment and support, equality, care and compassion.

Growing local communities are led by country ambassadors and city leads and the organization is supported in turn by a growing list of corporate and public sector partners. Activities organized by WAI include community meetups, various events, educational programs, research and publications, as well as communications. WAI’s flagship event is its Global Summit, a gathering of the global community of women in AI including researchers, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and policy makers.

“AltaML recognizes that inclusivity and diversity is a strength and that a wealth of backgrounds and perspectives helps us to do more and be more, together. This sponsorship gives AltaML the opportunity to support WAI’s mission which aligns so closely with our own,” said Nicole Janssen, AltaML Co-Founder and Co-CEO. “With women in leadership and in technical and business roles as well as a highly diverse and international staff, I am very proud of AltaML’s contributions to diversity and gender inclusivity and I am honoured to participate as a member of the panel representing Alberta’s and Canada’s excellence in AI at this global event.”

“Resilience, passion and resourcefulness are just a few of the qualities that describe the outstanding speakers who will participate in the panel to discuss how Canada is shaping AI for good at the WAI Global Summit.” said Emmanuelle Coppinger, WAI Ambassador for Canada. “We are delighted that Nicole Janssen will represent the AI entrepreneurs around this virtual table and share her insight as a leading actor of shaping AI in Canada and beyond. I also want to take this opportunity to thank AltaML for being a visionary sponsor and for supporting WAI’s activities.”
